Hello! I’m Gloria Guo, a Service Designer crafting thoughtful, human-centered experiences.

My Background

I hold an MA in Service Design from the Royal College of Art in London and am seeking design opportunities that allow me to apply research-led thinking to complex, human-centered challenges.

Most recently, I was a Service Design Consultant at Tate, shaping experience strategy for teen audiences within gallery spaces. I’ve also worked as a Visual Curator at Apple, developing Apple Intelligence's Image Playground

Designed with care, shaped by lived experience.

As a designer, I am passionate about crafting thoughtful systems and services that help people feel understood and connected. My work is grounded in research and shaped through strategic thinking, with care for how how people feel and move through experiences.

I am especially interested in how services take shape within everyday life, and how thoughtful design can reduce friction and support daily routines.

But wait, there's more!

To me, design is...
01.

a story to be told.

Every person, place, or service holds a story, and meaningful design comes from taking the time to understand it. I’m drawn to the quiet details that reveal who people are and what they care about, then translating those insights into experiences that reflect their values and emotions.

02.

a connection to be built.

Design is genuine and uniquely created for you. It strives to hear you out, address your struggles, and integrate into your daily life. In that way, empathetic design feels like an old friend that just knows you.

03.

a space to be crafted.

Design creates spaces, physical or emotional, where people can feel understood and supported. It’s where imagination and empathy meet to build something lasting, through services and experiences that help people feel at home in their own stories.

A ceramicist

I’m someone who’s not afraid to get hands on! While my typical work is digital, I love to experiment with physical craft too. The ceramics studio has quickly become my second home, where I’m always wheel throwing a new piece or discovering new glaze combinations!

A regular

Nothing hits the spot quite like a cup of coffee! “The usual?” is usually the first thing I hear when hitting up my favorite cafe, where you can find me chowing down on a mocha roti and sipping on a caffeinated schlurp!

An avid gamer

While I wouldn’t call myself a gamer girl (yet), Genshin Impact, Pokémon Unite, and rhythm games are guilty pleasures of mine! Talk to me about your favorite in-game worlds ☺
